Lil fanart of my roommate Ben Tye’s Dewey Delane for a zine
I forgot that I scanned my 24 hour comic. I got I think 17 hours in? Here are my 14 pages.
Based on “Three Bloodhounds, Two Shepherds, One Fila Brasileiro” by Slim Cessna’s Auto Club.

Kat=funny
My fellow artist, former roommate, and rad dude >Ben Tye< made a comic, and is bringing it to Springcon! If you go see him there, he’ll have a little zine of fan art too. Here’s my contribution, a drawing of his pompadoured, buck-toothed, bow-tie wearing character, Dewey Delane.
and though Ben may not be so much a hardcore punk fan, I think he might get the Charles Bronson reference.
WHATEVER. it was fun
This is QUEST, my first completely computer-made comic. It’s Photoshop, HTML, CSS and a little jQuery. I was really excited to work on an art thing using my HTML skillz since I’ve never really done it in a visual way like this. It’s mostly a tech demo/proof of concept, I hope to tighten up some of the art in the next couple of weeks.
Working on this convinced me to have an HTML component in my senior project, but I don’t really know what that means yet.
Here is a comic about copyright law. It’s an issue I care about. Very inspired by Everything is a Remix. I listened to a lot of Kind of Bloop while I made this. You should check those both out.
Please let me know if anything is inaccurate.
Territory comic for experimental, kinda inspired by The Grey
I did this on greyed paper because why not.
Civil War comic, based on Alfred and William Waud, two artist brothers who documented the war for newspapers. Also amputation.
Wacom Inkling VS Scanner
For the past few days I’ve been experimenting with the new Wacom Inkling. I’ve compared results gained from drawing and scanning vs using the inkling and importing it into Photoshop and Illustrator.
Check out the results.
Yeah, of COURSE the scanner wins. It’s not the point of the product. That’s why wacom makes tablets. Inkling is for quickly capturing sketches (WAY faster than scanning, which I love) and other times you’re not making a finished product. I haven’t had a problem with the pen going into standby, but if you’re not careful your hand can block the sensor. I got around this by clipping it to the right side of the paper because I’m left-handed and now I hardly think about my hand.
The Unwritten
written by Mike Carey, art by Peter Gross, and covers by Yuko ShimizuDefinitely recommend picking this comic up if you haven’t read it yet!
