I need to do more bright colors, everything I make is brown. It’s way easier to get bright with digital, which I do less.

I found a way to make the inkling for for a finished assignment, too. I don’t know if I’l ever use it again, but the hockey players were drawn with it, originally just for reference, but my teacher liked them so much I just colored them.

I started this a while ago and finally finished it today!

I was probably sad about girl things. Gosh I love colored pencils.

First assignment of the semester.

We got teamed up to do portraits of people in the class, I got my main man “Fresh” Aaron Schulte.

Obsession

I play a lot of banjo, sometimes too much. I don’t think I’ve ever literally bled but I can’t feel textures with my left hand and last night all my fingertips fell off.

I submitted this to the Society of Illustrators LA thing.

More cowboys. Slight color and paper texture make stuff look more done!

For a guy who draws so many cowboys I sure can’t draw guns…

I had fun with this. These are 3 hilarious guys, Adam Lisagor, Scott Simpson, and Merlin Mann. Together they form You Look Nice Today, which is the Best Podcast.

I really like the things these guys do, I want to send them some prints of this. I might put them up for sale, too if any members of the FunBunch™ is interested.

I did all the coloring in Corel Painter, which is bafflingly wonderful and terrible at the same time. (A different palette for every aspect of the brush? Really?) I’m starting to get fast, even! Well, less slow.

Here’s a tip: stare at this and imagine them talking while listening to the show. All of it.

Wow, I sure whipped this one out.

Shirt design for Red Fang. I felt like even though a skull has been done/is obvious that I really had to go with it. I tried to avoid the usual black metal band shirt, but keep it heavy.

I came up with the lava part while lifeguarding.

So I realized I hadn’t finished lettering this, and that I probably wasn’t going to, but I wanted it to be readable so I slapped some on there in Photoshop.

Here’s a biography of the late great Carl Sagan. Maybe the second comic I ever made?

Dichotomy.

So pretty much this old dead Greek dude Zeno decided that in order to get somewhere, you have to get to the halfway point, but first half of the way to halfway etcetcetc meaning all movement is an illusion.
